Hunt Test October 1-2: Premium Available

Good Morning!
Our club is having a Dual Hunt Test with the Oak Ridge Pointing Dog Club.  It will be held at Oak Ridge Grounds on October 1 & 2, below is the link to the Premium.
This event is a great way to run your dog with each club having a chance to pass twice in one day. It’s a great way for new members to introduce their dog into competition. The entire Hunt Test is viewable from an above observation platform so it is fun to watch these dogs run through their tests.

Spring Field Trials

Attached are the premiums for the Buckeye GSP, Ohio CH and Ohio GSP trials. The combination of these trials will give you 8 days of trialing (all dual sanctioned with AKC and NGSPA) at Tri-Valley Wildlife Area in Dresden, Ohio.

Buckeye GSP trial April 23 & 24 (Open to all pointing breeds)
NGSPA Ohio Championship April 25 – 28 (GSP only)

Ohio GSP trial April 29 & 30 (Friday & Saturday) (Open to all pointing breeds)

Come on out and join us for one or all of these great events!

Condolences to Diane & Russ Roth

As we know, all good bird dogs go to grouse heaven.  Three days shy of his 15th birthday Diane, Russ, Eddie and Pete said goodbye to their FC/AFC Pine Acres Rusty Saddle.  Rusty will be missed by the field trial world as he was a naturally-broke pup.  He will live on through his pups.  He sired many good field trial pups including: Smitty(Brian & Eileen Smith); Edge(Neil Bly); Eddie and Pete (Russ & Diane Roth); Reba and Kiera (Dennis & Sher Meinke) and Buster (Dan Meinke).

Hunt Test on October 3-4: Premium Available

The GSP Club of Ohio is once again pairing up with the Oakridge Pointing Dog Club in Pennsylvania to host a dual hunt test. Two clubs, two days, up to four passes earned per dog.

Field Trial Happy Hour and Raffle

Our horseback field trial is April 24-26 at the Tri-Valley field trial grounds.  We will again be holding a raffle on Saturday night April 25 after our dinner and would appreciate receiving any donations of dog items, or other raffle items anyone would like to donate to the raffle.   We will also be having a “happy hour” before dinner and would appreciate any delicious appetizers anyone would care to share.  Look forward to seeing everyone at the field trial.

The GSPCO will be collaborating with the Silver Dollar Sportsman Club for a wonderful dinner and raffle the evening of Saturday, May 9th.  Please join us even if you are not competing.

Also, there will be a trap shoot at the club on Sunday afternoon on a different part of the club property that welcomes anyone from our group, so bring a shotgun if you wish.
